Description & Show Notes
Have you ever seen a seahorse alive in the ocean? Maggy has seen ONE in all of her hundreds of dives, but she found thousands of them on the markets in HongKong, dead and dried for sale.
Today Maggy interviews the founder of the South African organization Oceans Alive Conservation Trust - Colin Levin. Colin supports many beautiful organizations and projects with Oceans Alive, not only in ocean conservation, but also in the topics of plastic pollution, beach clean ups, school projects with the youth, rhino conservation, turtle protection, mangrove and coral conservation and much more. His experience is huge and we feel very happy to be able supporting this ngo with SANUSPLANET. Oceans Alive has a spot in August's voting on the SANUSAPP and the donation through this voting goes to the scientific research for protecting the Knysna Seahorse that was listed as Endangered on the IUCN Red List in 2004.
In this episode Colin shares his knowledge about his wide range of conservation projects with us. He and Maggy also talk about the importance of resilience in conservation. Colin's clear statement, that we need more people volunteering and helping the good cause, but also more funding in financing the important projects, is a topic, many organizations know very well.
